Kalahari Wild Safari

The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is 38,000 km2 and straddles the borders of South Africa and Botswana. A true African wilderness experience. The Kalahari is renowned for incredible bird sightings, black maned lions, one of the largest populations of free ranging Cheetah as well as an abundance of plains game.

The park is in a malaria free area and is one of the last unspoilt places left in Africa. An ideal photographic safari.

This fully inclusive package is for a safari to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park for 4 days.

You will be guided by an experienced
guide with more than 10 years’ experience in the park. Accommodation is at a private lodge within the park with stunning views over the plains – Each private room is fully equipped with shower, bathroom, bedroom and private deck. Meals are included as well as game drives, park conservation fees and transfers.


Daily itinerary

Wake up call at 06:00 am

06:15 Coffee & rusks

07:45 Game drive in open Safari vehicle with local guide. Return by 11:00 for Brunch

12:00 to 14:00 Free time informal discussions on the park, cameras, equipment, editing.

14:00 to 15:00 Own time…..Siesta

15:00 Tea followed by a game drive, stopping for drinks at a picnic spot.

18:00 Return to lodge…freshen up, sundowners and dinner.

19:00 Stargazing… absorbing the sounds of Africa


On the last day we will leave the park after brunch.

If you are travelling from Cape Town with us we will leave the city very early and travel north taking in the sights along the way. With an over night stop in Upington or Augrabies.


For an extended stay in the park an additional Luxury Tented camp in the north of the reserve at Polentswa is recommended. Sleeping in these spacious tents with all the mod cons of a modern day safari is a memorable experience. The Kalahari trip can be tailored to include the Augrabies Falls – add a day.

Transfers are from the Park gate at Tweerivieren, Upington or from Cape Town.

Situated in the semi desert region the weather in the park is generally warm to hot with cool to cold evenings.

Packing list:
Cool cotton clothing, a sun hat, warm jacket or windbreaker for the chilly evenings and game drive. Sandals, shorts, bathing costume. Personal medications, sun block.
Camera kit – camera, lenses, tripod, beanbag card reader, laptop.


Malaria – This is a malaria free area
Telephones – National parks have very limited cell phone coverage
Medical Insurance – it is advisable to have adequate medical coverage

Summers (Oct. – April) warm to hot days and cool nights
Winters (May – Sept.) generally mild but can be very cold

Language – English is used throughout the region
