Safari Ex Cape Town 1 day

This one day Safari leaves Cape Town early morning for the 2,5hour drive to the park.

Kgalagadi Transfrontier staying in a Private Lodge

The park is 38,000 km2 and straddles the borders of South Africa and Botswana. A true African wilderness experience. Renowned for incredible bird sightings, black maned lions, one of the largest populations of free ranging Cheetah as well as an abundance of plains game.

The park is in a malaria free area and is one of the last unspoiled places left in Africa. An ideal photographic safari. Accommodation is at a private lodge within the park with sweeping views over the plains

Daily itinerary

Wake up call at 06:00 am

06:15 Coffee & rusks

07:45 Game drive in open Safari vehicle with local guide. Return by 11:00 for Brunch

12:00 to 14:00 Free time informal discussions on the park, cameras, equipment, editing.

14:00 to 15:00 Own time…..Siesta

15:00 Tea followed by a game drive, stopping for drinks at a picnic spot.

18:00 Return to lodge…freshen up, sundowners and dinner.

19:00 Stargazing… absorbing the sounds of Africa

 

On the last day we will leave the park after brunch.

If you are travelling from Cape Town with us we will leave the city very early and travel north taking in the sights along the way. With an over night stop in Upington or Augrabies.

BOOKING REFERENCE – KTFP

For an extended stay in the park an additional Luxury Tented camp in the north of the reserve at Polentswa is recommended. Sleeping in these spacious tents with all the mod cons of a modern day safari is a memorable experience. The Kalahari trip can be tailored to include the Augrabies Falls – add a day.

Transfers are from the Park gate at Tweerivieren, Upington or from Cape Town.

Situated in the semi desert region the weather in the park is generally warm to hot with cool to cold evenings.
